Rabid skunk found near Ault

A skunk that was found northeast of Ault in late January has tested positive for rabies.  The Weld County Public Health and Environment says the skunk was the first case of confirmed rabies in a skunk in the county.

Weld County Health Officials say with the first case of skunk rabies in the county the concern is the spread of rabies.  Sara Evans says skunk rabies spread rapidly among skunks and have an increased chance of infecting other wildlife.
