A four car media tour moved through the foothills on Wednesday. As we saw some of the damages done by the High Park Fire, it was made very clear that this fire has a mind of its own.
Some areas were left to ash, while others were completely untouched.
Media were taken to a Spike Camp in the Buckhorn area where about 150 firefighters are staying. Since they are inside the fire lines, their response time is quicker to flare ups.
Lee Mackler, the camp manager has been fighting fires for 38 years, but says this is the largest fire he has ever been a part of leading.
