LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL, proud affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets & the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced today that forward Ray Kaunisto has been re-assigned to the Eagles. The 6-foot-4-inches, 185-pound forward brings a strong resume to Colorado. Following a four-year collegiate career at Northern Michigan University, the Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan native began his pro career with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs, for whom he played 131 games over the past two seasons. Last year he recorded 22 points (7-15-22) and 65 penalty minutes in 74 games.
The Eagles will take on the Idaho Steelheads tonight at the Budweiser Events Center, the first of three meetings between the teams this week in Colorado. Kaunisto will not be in the Eagles' lineup tonight.
