A nationally known conservative pundit is getting more attention than normal with his response to the Boston marathon.
Fort Collins resident Erik rush responded to the explosions with a tweet blaming Muslims which landed police at rush's door last night.
"I was responding frustration to a comment someone made," said Rush.
Erik Rush a Fort Collins resident and a conservative pundit for Fox News responded to the Boston Marathon explosion saying in a tweet, "Everybody do the national security ankle grab! Let's bring more Saudis in without screening them! C'mon! #bostonmarathon."
"The first tweet that started them off was me saying sarcastically that we should kill all Muslims," said Rush.
Rush's comments got immediate national attention…with one person tweeting right away, "are you already blaming Muslims??" Rush responded, "Yes, they're evil. Let's kill them all." He later tweeted that he was being sarcastic.
"Someone took that to mean that I was blaming Muslims for the Boston bombing. What happened after that wasn't directed at anyone who was injured at it certainly wasn't mean to draw as much fire as it did," said Rush.
To add to the story, Fort Collins police responded to a 911 phone call from a person claiming to be Erik Rush yesterday afternoon just hours after the tweets.
In the call, the person claiming to be Rush said there were two gunmen with guns outside his home.
The police quickly figured out that the 911call was a fake and in light of Rush's recent tweets about the Boston marathon, the incident wasn't shocking.
Most of Rush's tweets have been deleted. But he said he's not sorry for the what he said.
And the often harsh world of twitter was unleashed on Rush disagreeing, to say the least, with his comments.
