The lower level of the University Center at the University of Northern Colorado is now open to public traffic even though construction is still under way.
All non-food retail outlets and the computer commons have re-opened as well and are operating under normal summer hours.
UNC is spending $365,000 from their deferred maintenance budget to remove and replace aging flooring that has become obsolete, since it was installed in the eighties.
Fourteen thousand square feet is being replaced on the lower level of the UC.
Throughout the summer there will be other projects going on to help maintain the 76 buildings on-campus.
